82, Baddeck It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our loved mother and wife. She died peacefully at St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish, Dec. 31, 2008, with the family by her side. Born June 11, 1926, in Baddeck, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Bessie (MacAskill) Dunlop. Shirley was a member of the Greenwood United Church, Baddeck, and the Alexander Graham Bell Club. She enjoyed golf, cards, downhill skiing and she and Peter spent most of the winter months in Florida. She is survived by her husband, Peter; son, John (Joanne), Antigonish; daughters, Debbie (Glen) Irving, Morah Kerr (Tom Hollis), both of Truro; grandchildren, Jacob, William, Isaac Kerr, Kelly Sanderson, Ottawa, Karen Irving, Truro; great-grandchildren, Alex, Julia, Clare Sanderson, Ottawa; and her sister, Geraldine Jackson, Halifax. Predeceased by brothers, C.D. 'Buddy' Dunlop. The body is resting at MacAskill Funeral Home with visiting hours Sunday, Jan. 4 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Greenwood United Church, Monday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m., Rev. Karen Lynch officiating. Burial in St. Andrews Cemetery, Baddeck Forks. Donations may be made to Greenwood United Church or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
