Mr. Michael D. Quinn, 73, of Rockford, Mich., passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2009. To meet his military obligation in Canada as a Canadian citizen, Michael fulfilled his military obligation by serving in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, the former Delores M. McClellan whom he married April 25, 1964; children, Margaret Mary and Larry Collins, Daniel and Janis Quinn, John Quinn, Kathleen Quinn; grandchildren, Naomi Colby, Joseph Quinn, Kirsten Felty, Nicole Felty, Kirstin Ruud, Erika Ruud; great-grandchildren, Holly and Abigail; brothers and sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Stephen Horyl, Cape Breton, Mrs. Diane Ward, Sarnia, Ont., Dr. Bryan Quinn, Sydney; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mrs. Isabel Quinn, Linda McClellan, Christine Potes and Timothy McClellan (Merri Richardson); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Isabel Quinn, a brother, James, and a grandson, Jonathan Collins. The Mass of Christian Burial for Michael will be offered Monday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Rockford, with The Rev. Tony Russo presiding. Interment in Assumption BVM Cemetery. The rosary was prayed Sunday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
