81, Glace Bay It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Anne MacVicar, of 9 McKenzie St., Glace Bay on Dec. 31, 2008, at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. Born in MacKay's Corner, Glace Bay, Anne was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Katherine Anne (Buchanan) Weatherby. Anne is survived by her sons, Gary (Janet), Marion Bridge, and Keith (Patrice), Upper Grand Mira; and her daughters, Sharon (Allan) and Ruth (Darrell), Glace Bay. A true source of pride and joy for 'Nanny' were her three grandsons, Matt and Garett MacVicar and Logan Cooke. Also surviving are sisters, Jessie MacDonald, Shirley (Aubrey MacKenzie), Glace Bay, Mildred (Alphonse) McNeil, Mary (Gerald) Munroe, California; sister-in-law, Audy Weatherby, Glace Bay. Anne is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her parents, her husband, James, on Aug. 27, 2008, sister, Ruth MacIntyre, California, brother, D.J. Weatherby, and brother-in-law, Omar MacDonald, Glace Bay. In honoring Anne's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, Glace Bay, 849-7520. Donations in Anne's memory may be made to Knox United Church, Glace Bay or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
