Toronto Robert Drake of Toronto, formerly of Sydney, N.S., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Bertha in 2007. Survived by his two sons, Ralph and Donnie, Toronto, and their families; and his sister, Gwen (Nelson) MacLeod, Baddeck. Bobby was a faithful volunteer in his community through The Beaches Lions Club for 20 years, receiving numerous awards for his dedication, including the Melvin Jones Award and International Volunteer of the Year Award in 2001, presented by the United Nations General Assembly. Funeral services are Wednesday, Jan. 7 at the Sherrin Funeral Home , 873 Kingston Rd., Toronto, Ont.
