It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
Marie was the daughter of the late Joe Angus and Agnes MacDonald.
Raised in Sydney, Marie married Doug in 1946 and moved to Westmount in 1949. She and Doug raised five children and she will always be remembered as a kind and loving mother. Marie was a member of Holy Rosary Church and CWL for over 60 years. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Marie is survived by her husband, Doug; sons, John (Anita), Bedford, Joseph (Elaine), Winnipeg, Ron (Lorna), Stonewall, Man.; daughters, Mary Barrett, Dartmouth, Elizabeth (Clark) Acker, Shelburne; grandchildren, Jolaine, Sarah, Colleen, Andrea, Allison, Stephen, Kevin, Michelle, Douglas, David and Meghan; great-grandchildren, Neige, Autumn, Tommy and Rhian; and, brothers, Anslem, New Glasgow, Vincent, Halifax.
She was predeceased by brothers, Danny and Currie, sisters, Anita and Catherine, and son-in-law, Roger.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mira Bay, Harbourstone for the wonderful care Marie received and the support given to the family.
Visitation will be at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.The funeral will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church on Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Doug Murphy officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
