MacDonald, Rita (1921-2010) - Rita MacDonald, 89, of Rexton passed away suddenly at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home on March 12th, 2010. Born in Rogersville, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Julia (Morton) MacDonald. Rita was a hard worker, and worked as a homemaker, at the Post Office, and at the Moncton City Hospital. Rita was a member of the CWL, the Golden Age Club, and she participated in church activities. She spent the last year of her life at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home, which was a place very near to her heart. Rita leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Lillian Vautour. The last surviving member of her immediate family, other than by her parents, Rita was predeceased by four sisters; Patricia, Sister Sara, Sister Susie, and Helen, and by six brothers; Tom, Robert, Rainforth, Father Angus, Malcolm, and Lewis.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9, and Monday from 9:00 am until the departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 15th, 2010 at 11:00 am, at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Rexton. If so desired, donations to the Chapel Point Cemetery fund, which is the cemetery Rita will be interred at in the spring, would be appreciated by the family.
