1911-2010 Jean Maillet, 98 of Résidence Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur, Dieppe and formerly of Saint-Norbert has passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12th, 2010 at the Residence. He was the husband of the late Irene (Hasselman) Maillet (1998). Born in Saint-Norbert on October 07, 1911, he was the son of the late Dosithé and the late Bibienne (Boucher) Maillet. Jean was a carpenter by trade. He will be sadly missed by his nine children, Sr Yvonnice Maillet ndsc of Dieppe, Doris Caissie (Fidèle) of Haverhill, Mass., Louise McGraw (Gerard) of Shediac, Florence LeBlanc (Roméo) of Andover, Mass., Georgina Cormier (Ovila) of Saint-Antoine, Rita Bastarache (Donat) of Gardner, Mass., Roger (Délia) of Saint-Norbert, Gerald (Rosa) of Saint-Antoine, Emile (Claudette) of Leominster, Mass.one daughter-in-law Jeanita Maillet of Saint-Marie-de-Kent, twenty four grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by one son Aurèle, two grandchildren Linda and Conrad and two sisters, Ida and Amanda, five half-sisters Sr. Marguerite, Sr. Marie-Marthe, Sr. Domethilde, Emilienne,
Célina and one half-brother, Placide.
Visitation will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent on Monday, March 15th from 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Sainte-Marie de Kent Church on Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 at 7:00 pm. Interment will be in the Saint-Norbert Cemetery in the spring. In Jean’s memory donations can be made to the upkeep of the Saint-Norbert Cemetery.
