Joseph “Joe” Daigle, 81, of Dieppe passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born January 13, 1929 in Shediac, he was the son of the late Joseph and Célina (Ouellette) Daigle. Joseph was employed with the Times Transcript as an advertising coordinator for 36 years prior to his retirement. He attended Ste-Thérèse R.C. Church, Dieppe. He is survived by his wife Jeannine (LeBlanc) Daigle, his son, Gilles (Nicole) of Gatineau, QC, one grandchild Annick; five step children: Françine Allain (Jean-Paul) of Dieppe, Cécile LeBlanc of Vancouver, B.C., Hélène LeBlanc (David) of Moncton, Annette Robichaud (Robert) of Cocagne and George (Nicole) of Beresford; seven step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marguerite Richard of St-Hilaire, QC, two brothers: Lévi Daigle of Salem, NH and Camille Daigle of Westminster, MA; and also by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his 1st wife Rita (Desprès) in 1996, three sisters: Marie, Béatrice and Eugénie and by two brothers: Gérald and Arthur Daigle.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 88 Church St., Moncton (858-1900) on Monday, from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until time of departure. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Ste-Thérese R.C. Church, Dieppe. Internment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Joe, contributions to the Alzheimer Society of N.B. or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
