1929-2010 - Miramichi - Helena Mary Jenkins, of Old Station Road, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the age of 81. Born in Baie St. Anne, on March 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Maxime Doucet and Mary M. Jenkins. She was a homemaker and attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi. She is survived by her long time companion, Fred McIntyre; two daughters, Debbie Jenkins (Doug Cripps) and Gladys Jenkins (David Dickson), all of Miramichi; two sons, Gordon Jenkins (Connie) and Herbie Jenkins (Mary), all of Miramichi; one daughter in law, Heather Jenkins, of Miramichi; six grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Jenkins, in 1973; one son, George Jenkins; fifteen siblings. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, later in the spring. Please note, vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday afternoon, at 1:50pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Regional Hospital, or any charity of the donors\' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
