Robert W. Heffernan, 52, of Moncton, N.B., passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, March 18, 2010.
Born in Sydney, N.S., he was the son of the late James and Nicolette ‘Nikki’ (Clancey) Heffernan.
Robert was a former employee of the CNR (20 years service) and Maritime Automotive Warehousing. He was of the Catholic faith and was a former member of Maplewood Golf Club. In past years, he enjoyed curling, golfing, the outdoors, especially hunting, and spending time with his family.
Robert will be sadly missed by his wife of over 30 years, Rachel (Hicks) Heffernan; sons, Robert (Melissa), Woodstock, and Wayne, at home; precious grandchildren, Chelsea, Anna and Isaac; sisters, Karen Bureaux (John), Moncton, Wendy Walchuck (Jim), Vancouver; brother, Jim (Marilyn), Halifax; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth and sister-in-law, Mary Jane.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (506-858-1995), Sunday 2-4 p.m. Funeral service, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, March 22, 2010, 1:30 p.m., Rev. Allison Carroll officiating. Reception in the funeral home reception centre following the service.
