78, New Waterford It is with great sadness that the family wish to announce the passing of Stan Blundon on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Waterford he was the son of the late Stephen and Blanche (Head) Blundon. Stan was a 37-year employee of Maritime Tel & Tel and had many stories of time spent with the crews. He was a member of the New Waterford Pensioners Club and the Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and especially time spent in his garden. He was very well respected by his friends, and neighbours and welcomed everyone. He was well known for telling tall tales and having treats for children in the neighbourhood. Stan is survived by his best friend and wife of 56 years Marion (Watson); daughter, Karen (Philip) Blondeau, Cole Harbour; and son, Darren (Anne Louise), Port Hawkesbury; cherished grandchildren, Heather Blundon, Sam and Erin Blondeau; sisters, Viola, Bernice, Edith; brothers, Fred, Alonzo, Walter, David and Frank, who all live in the Kitchener, Ont. region. Besides his parents, Stan was also predeceased by his brother, John Blundon. Visitation for Stan will be held Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, N.S., 862-7500 and a celebration of Stan's life will take place Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. in All Saints Anglican Church with Rev. Vernon Reid and Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall, all are invited. Burial will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
