At the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on March 21, 2010, Mr. Ronald Eldridge Leslie, husband of the late Edith (Hooper) Leslie of Fairhaven NB. Born at Calais ME on July 8, 1930, he was a son of the late Ronald and Mildred (Greene) Leslie. A loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend he is survived by one brother, Gerald Leslie of Mt. Uniack NS, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and his wife Edith, he was predeceased by one son, David, one sister, Irma Leslie. Ronald was a self employed labourer who worked many jobs which included fishing for a number of years on Deer Island NB. He was a member of the Fairhaven Baptist Church and also a member of the Fundy Weir Fisherman’s Association. He enjoyed the simple things and loved collecting antiques and polishing stones. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
There will be no visitation, however a funeral service will be held from the Fairhaven Baptist Church, Deer Island NB on Thursday at 2 pm with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating, followed by the interment at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery, Calders Head NB. In Ronald’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
