56, Westmount It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bill McLean of Westmount on Jan. 23, 2009, after a brief illness. Bill was employed for 32 years with the Department of Transportation. He was a member of Holy Rosary parish and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 126. Bill loved to play darts and was an avid sport fisherman. Bill will be dearly missed by his daughter, Verna, a student at University of New Brunswick, of whom he was extremely proud; and by his sisters, Joan and Betty, brothers, Eddy, Jimmy and Victor, all of Toronto; and special family, Stella and Barry Reid, Westmount; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Claudette (Poirier) McLean, a son, Joseph in infancy, parents, Vida and Albert and sister, Linda McLean. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. The funeral mass for Bill will be held Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church in Westmount with Fr. Douglas Murphy officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. A luncheon reception will follow at Westside Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated for Verna's university fund. "Dad. I didn't know your pain but I know that you suffer no more and that you and mom and Joseph are together again. Tell mom that I am doing fine and that I love and miss you all dearly everyday. Love Verna."
