Schofield, Burnell Lawrence , age 71, of Hants Border, Kings County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 7, 1938, in Lockhartville, Kings County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Lawson and Rita (Lyons) Schofield. He was retired from CKF Inc., Hantsport, after 44 years of service. Burnell is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary (Frank); sons, Andrew (Cynthia), Prince George, British Columbia; Timothy (Karen), Hants Border; grandchildren, Sara and Kyle, Vancouver, British Columbia; Adam, Kristi and Ryan, Hants Border; brother, Ralph (Kay), West Brooklyn, Kings County; sister, Josephine (Don) Beckwith, Martins River; sister in-law Mable Schofield (Russell) of Hants Border, special niece, Heather; also Diane, Brenda, and Ann; nephews, Randy and Dean. Besides his parents, Lawson and Rita (Lyons) Schofield; Burnell was predeceased by, his brothers, Russell Schofield and Claude Schofield. Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, and there was no visitation by request. A graveside service was held for family and friends, at the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010. The Rev. Gail Whalen-Dunn and Michael Levy officiated, followed by a reception at the Hants Border Hall. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Burnell may be made to the Carey Me Foundation, c/o The Valley Regional Hospital, 150 Exhibition Street, P.O.
