Born in Radece, Slovania, Jan. 21, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Lorty) Jamsek.
Pauline moved at the age of one with her family to France, where she lived for seven years. She came to Canada with her mother Mary, sisters Mary, Frances and Annie in 1928, arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax on the Red Star Liner ‘Pennland’, where the family met with their father (and husband), Frank Jamsek.
