Sherman Mackay

The death of Sherman MacKay, 80, of Moncton and formerly of Little Shemogue, occurred suddenly at his home on Thursday, November 29, 2007. Sherman was the son of the late Lorne and Clara (Crossman) MacKay. Sherman will be sadly missed by six sons, Wayne (Kathy), Calvin, and Jeffrey (Christine), all of Moncton, Ralph (Tina) of Riverview, Danny of Edmonton, AB, and Richard of Red Deer, AB; seven daughters, Judy (Harry) Reid of St. Johns, NL, Wendy Glidden of Indian Mountain, N.B., Brenda (Bob) Jones of Pointe de Bute, Darlene (Ralph) Atkinson of Timber River, N.B., Maxine Johnson of Port Elgin, Clara (Tim Collette) MacKay and Angela Mackay, both of Moncton; 29 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma (Bob Arbeau) Morrison of Little Shemogue; two nieces. He will be mourned by Muriel MacKay of Moncton and by his dog Mr. Buster Brown. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Geraldine (nee Tower) in 1991; and sister Leona Mackay. Arrangements were entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin (538-2241). At the family's request, there was no visitation. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2007 from the funeral home with burial in the Fernwood Cemetery.
