Stanley Brine

PORT ELGIN, N.B. - While surrounded by his family, Stanley J. Brine, age 70, of Port Elgin, passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Amherst on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Port Elgin, he was a son of the Late Leonce and Aldea (Gould) Brine. Stanley led a very active life. Years ago he belonged to the Port Elgin Branch of the Kinsmen Club, the Port Elgin Fire Department. He enjoyed the company of family and friends, playing cards, hunting and fishing. He will be sadly missed by his wife two sons, Pierre (Louise), Dieppe, Steven, Westlock, AB; a daughter Tammy (Larry) Thomas, Port Elgin; a stepson Kevin Barrett, Parksville, B.C.; two stepdaughters, Tracy Barrett, Moncton, and Tanya Barrett, Fort Saint John, B.C.; four grandsons, Daniel, Davey, Dylan and Scott; two granddaughters, Sylvie and Alexandria; two stepgrandchildren, Alex and Sarah; a brother Albert, Port Elgin. He was predeceased by his first wife Simonne (Landry) and a brother Donald. Arrangements were entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (538-2241) where visiting hours took place on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the procession to the church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 11 a.m., Father Allison Carroll officiating.
