Lemay, Jacques Pierre - 67, of Advocate Harbour, Cumberland County. It is with deep sadness, the family of Jacques Lemay announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Laurier-Station, Quebec, he was the son of the late Oscar and Juliette (Hebert) Lemay. Jacques attended elementary school in Laurier-Station and later studied marine electrical and mechanical engineering. He served with the navy for a brief time and he worked as an engineer for more than forty years retiring from Eastern Canada Towing in 2001. After meeting his wife, Gloria, they relocated to Advocate Harbour where they built, owned and operated Driftwood Park Retreat chalets. His love of meeting people, his caring and compassionate ways and his "Mr. fix-it abilities" brought Jacques and those whose lives he touched, great joy. Jacques loved puttering in his workshop, his garden and making wine to share with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, the former Gloria Lent; sons, Claude (Elaine), Bouctouche; Daniel (Rachel), Moncton; Michel (Gaelle), Cocagne; a daughter, Nathalie Lemay (Gilles), Dieppe; a step-daughter, Heather Beck (Terry), Kingston; grandchildren, Jocelyne, Abegail, Kaitlyne, Kayla, Alex, Nicole, Justin; sisters, Alexina Lemay (Bertrand Doucet), Quebec City; Therese Lemay, Quebec City; Suzanne Lemay, Trois-Rivieres; brothers, Luc (Marcelle), Saint-Bruno; Patrick (Therese), Lac St.-Jean; Bertrand (Berthe), Saint-Hubert; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gabriel. There will be no viewing or funeral service by request. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. today (Monday) in the Advocate Harbour Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Advocate Fire Hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro.
