Reta Wheaton

Reta Myrn Wheaton age 86, of Amherst passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Dorchester, N.B., she was a daughter of the late John and Ida (O'Blenis) O'Blenis. Reta worked at Stanfields in Oxford and later at Playtex, Fort Cumberland Hotel and Wandlyn Inn in Amherst. She enjoyed sewing, music and animals. Reta loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Reta will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her son Claude "Jim" (Shirley) Wheaton of Amherst, three daughters Donna (Harry) Jackson, Ida (Bob) Davison both of Amherst and Norma (Doug) Robison of Harvey Station, N.B., six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Preston, son Wallace in infancy and brothers Amos and Albert. Her remains are resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Interment will follow in the Amherst Cemetery. Family flowers only.
