Ronald K. Johnston passed away peacefully at his home in McAdam, NB on April 4, 2010 after a three year struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. Ronald was born in McAdam in 1929, a son of the late Robert B. and Viola E. (McGee) Johnston. He was employed with CPRail for thirty nine years, retiring in 1986. Ronald is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Beatrice D. (Pond) Johnston; three sons, Larry Johnston, Fredericton, NB, Rev. Dr. Robin Johnston (Marsha), St. Louis, Missouri and Darrell Johnston (Kimberly), Phœnix, Arizona; his grandchildren, Mark Johnston (Liz), Melissa Kinney (Aaron), Melanie Johnston, Brett Johnston (Stacie) and Brook Johnston; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Karl Johnston (Violet), Stoney Creek, Ontario and Arnold Johnston (Donna), Fredericton, NB; a sister-in-law, Rose Johnston, Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, David and Paul Johnston.
Visitation will be held at Voice of Pentecost Church, McAdam, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Tompkins officiating. Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Ronald, the family has suggested the Missions Department of Voice of Pentecost Church, the Canadian Red Cross or a charity of the donor's choice.
