It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mike as the result of a tragic accident on Sunday, April 12, 2009, at the age of 47.
Mike was a loving husband, father, son and brother who had a strong sense of family.
Born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, on January 3, 1962 he was the son of Shirley and the late Les Bishop. Beloved husband of Donna (Hines). Loving father of Evan, Wade (Karen Sage) and Dawn (Christian Morley). Dear brother of Donnie (Donna) of Sydney, N.S., Joe (Linda) Georges River, N.S., Billy and John (Marjorie) of Milton, Ont., Chris (Kim) of Toronto, Sonja (Art) Francis of North Sydney, N.S. and Shaundy Sibley of Thorold. Uncle Mike will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mike was employed with Centennial Construction as a labourer/cement finisher and he enjoyed working closely with the guys as was evident in the many stories he would tell upon his arrival home each day. In his spare time Mike enjoyed nothing more than piling the family into his truck and just driving around to see the sights. He also enjoyed taking his go-kart out with the boys. Mike was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first grandchild in September.
Mike’s family will receive friends at the Lamb-Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent St., Thorold on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in The Lamb Chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines.
Memorial donations in memory of Mike to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
