Sister Lorraine Doucet, f.j., in religion, Sr. Marie Lina-du-Sacré-Cœur, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at Monarch Hall in Riverview, at the age of 85. She was in the 63th year of her religious profession.
She was born in Chéticamp, N.S., the daughter of the late Pierre Doucet, of St-Joseph-du-Moine, N.S., and of the late Rose-Anne Chiasson, also of St-Joseph-du-Moine.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by two brothers, Patrice Yvon, Pictou, N.S., and Wilfred, Grand Étang, N.S; also many nephews and nieces.
Sister's life mission was spent as a cook and a good cook she was. She served her sisters in her community in the province of Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. She also worked as a cook in hospitals (Hôpital Cooke, Qc; Arichat, N.S.) as well as for priests (rectories in Barachois, N.B., and Residence of the White Fathers in Moncton).
The family will receive condolences Monday, April 12 from 7-9 p.m. at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church St., Moncton, 506-858-1900 from where the funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 13, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
