Josephine Duthie, 87, of Sutton Rd, Miramichi, NB who passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Horizon Health Network Miramichi, NB. Born in Semiwagan Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Margaret (Butler) Foley. She lived life to the fullest everyday, not wanting to waste a minute, always putting others ahead of herself, especially her family, whether it was visiting the sick or keeping in touch with her good friends on a regular basis. She appreciated her good neighbors, whom she always had a "little" job for. Her favorite pastime's were cooking and knitting, both of which she shared with everyone. And of course, she really looked forward to going to bingo on Wednesday evenings. She is survived by four daughters; Ann (Howard MacEachern), Miramichi, Joanie Bernston of Vancouver, Catherine Ward of Miramichi, Peggy Doyle (Clayton) of Miramichi, sons: Reginald McEvoy of Miramichi, Frank McEvoy (Evelyn) of Calgary, Donald McEvoy (Joan) of Miramichi, brother; Jack Foley (Jeannette) of Miramichi, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Josephine is predeceased by brothers Martin, Willie, Eddie, Jimmy and Frank, sisters; Helen, Irene, Frances, Mary, Cass and Margaret, one grandchild Karla, great-grandchild Emma.
Josephine Duthie is resting at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Slumberoom in Barnaby River on Tuesday, April 20th from 7 to 9 and Wednesday April 21, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 2pm from The Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Barnaby River with Fr Leon Creamer officiating. Interment will be in Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi, NB serving the Miramichi and surrounding area for 100 years. Telephone 773-4321.
