SARTY, Arden McDonald - 81 of Parkers Cove, Annapolis Co., passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 8, 2010, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Arden's 8th great-grandchild Kamryn was born a few hours after his death, she brought a bright light to a dark day. Born in Parkers Cove, he was the son of the late Hanford and Susan (Fash) Sarty. Arden was a hard worker, a fisherman, mechanic, truck driver; he helped many people in the community with help from his horses. He also enjoyed working at Upper Clements Park. In his younger years he enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Helen Maxine (Hudson), Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown; children Stuart (Teresa Maston), Parker Mountain Rd.; Marsha (Bruce) Gregory, Parkers Cove; Paul (Wendy), Youngs Cove; Michael, Bridgetown; Diane (Lance) Durling, West Dalhousie; grandchildren, Matthew, Laura, Bradley Maston, Chassity (Jamey), Mandy, Melanie, Christie, Cathy, Nathan, Kirby, Megan and Grace; great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Hayden, Austin, Madison, Riley, Kamryn, Jayla, Felicia; sisters, Marion Robinson, Parkers Cove and Idella Young, Youngs Cove. He was predeceased by son, Donald Arden, in infancy; sister, Pearl. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Visitation was held Sunday, April 11, 2010. The funeral service was held Monday, April 12, 2010. Both from Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Pastor Herb Anderson officiated. Burial followed in Hillside Cemetery, Parkers Cove. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
