Elizabeth Dolores 'Dodie' Isenor, 78, Wallace, Cumberland County, had her life taken on April 19, 2010, as the result of a motor vehicle accident in St. Stephen, N.B., while returning from vacation in Florida, one day following her 57th wedding anniversary.
Born in Scotchtown, she was a daughter of the late Rupert and Florence (MacNeil) MacGillivray. She had travelled throughout Canada and Europe with her loving husband and two sons, Kendall and Leonard, (deceased in 1983 and 1980 respectively). She had spent 18 winters at their winter home in Fort Myers, Florida.
Predominantly she had lived in Couchenour, Ont., Winnipeg, Man., and Wallace. Dodie was a devoted, wife, partner and best friend to Ken and a loving and devoted mother to her sons. She had treasured friends, close relatives and adored all aspects of life. She appreciated animals (especially cats), and was very active in sports. She enjoyed curling and golfing with her friends at the Northumberland Links, and playing shuffleboard and bocce in Florida.
Surviving are her husband, Ken; brother, Raymond (Pat) MacGillivray, Ottawa, Ont; sister, Ruth (Bill) Sheehy, Halifax; sisters-in-law, Christine MacGillivray, Watertown, Mass., Agnes Isenor, Trenton, Ont.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation has taken place. Adhering to Dodie's wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506). Rev. Connie McNamara officiating with interment at a later date in Red Lake, Ont. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Humane Society, the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity.
