It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Mercer, formerly of Riverview announce his passing after a hard battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie. He leaves behind his wife Arlene; children Alana (Terry) and Bill 'Billy Jack' (Angela); grandchildren Britney, Kelby, Dakotah, Alika, Colton, Abigail and Victoria. Bill is survived by his father Bill; siblings Pamela (Harold), Marilyn (John), Elizabeth (Donald) and Thomas (Lynn Taylor); many nieces and nephews and predeceased by his mother Myrna and brother Paul.
Funeral Service will be held in Barrie, Ontario on Monday, April 26, 2010. Following the service in Barrie, Bill will return home to Riverview, NB, where the family will receive relatives and friends at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Wednesday April 28 from 6 to 9. The interment will take place at Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview. Memorial donations to Hospital for Sick Children Cancer Care would be appreciated.
