It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Gil Robinson on April 28th, 2010 at his residence in New Maryland. Born February 24th, 1957 in Calgary, AB, Gil was the son of the late Gil and Doreen Robinson formerly of Moncton, NB and husband to Debbie Stewart. Gil is survived by his wife, Debbie and step-children, Erin, Meagan, Michael and Jake of New Maryland, NB; his sisters, Barbara (Rob) Holowack of Waterloo, ON and their children, Dan and Kevin, Catherine (Brad) Hale of Kelowna, BC and their children, Lisa and Tyler and Laurie (Phil) Galbraith of Moncton, NB and their children, Andrew and Sam. Gil attended Dalhousie University and graduated with First Class Honours with a Bachelor of Science in 1980. In 1984 he achieved his Doctor of Philosophy in Physiological Psychology from McMaster University in Hamilton. He spent three years at the University of Pittsburg doing work in the Neuroscience Center. In 1987 he joined the University of New Brunswick and was successful as an accomplished Research Professor and published many articles on his own and in collaboration with his colleagues. He enjoyed teaching and spent many hours in his lab in Keirstead Hall. Gil enjoyed life to the fullest before and after his stroke in 2000. He continued golfing, and even took up boating. He became an avid globe trotter when enjoying better health. Gil chose to be at home in his final days, surrounded by the family and friends that meant so much to him. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home on Friday, April 30th, 2010 from 6 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Bruce McKenna officiating.
