Passed peacefully away at the Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, Phyllis Slade (nee Parsons) of Ochre Pit Cove, age 72 years. Predeceased by husband Albert, infant son, special friend Kevin Dwyer, parents John and Melina Parsons, brother-in-law Marcel Belanger. Leaving to mourn two daughters: Dolores (Herb) Butt, Bonnyville, Alta. and Della (Darryl) Emberley, Hant's Harbour; three sons: Bruce (Minnie), St. Lewis, Labrador, Ross (Audrey), Western Bay and Guy (Pauline Powers), Bonnyville, Alta; seventeen children; thirteen great-grandchildren; three brothers: Lloyd (Geraldine) Parsons, Millertown, James (Shirley) Parsons, Bristol's Hope and Eriel Parsons, Ochre Pit Cove; four sisters: Muriel (Hayward) Peddle, Carbonear, Joyce (Ches) Hurrell, Ochre Pit Cove, Mary (John) Sullivan, Spaniard's Bay and Leona (Chris) Jenkins, Western Bay; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Nœl's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, May 8 at 2 p.m. from the United Church, Perry's Cove. Interment in the United Cemetery, Perry's Cove.
