After a short illness, Dorothy, formerly of Kensington and Lower Freetown, passed away peacefully at Perrin's Clinton View Lodge, Clinton, on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the age of 88 years.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Jesse on Jan. 17, 2007.
She will be missed as dear mother of Alan (Barbara) Burns, Wilmot Valley, and Heather (Robert) McGinn, Calgary, Alberta. Loving grandmother of Britt and Jennifer Burns.
Predeceased by infant daughter, Suzanne Burns, and sister, Evelyn (Rogers) Burns.
Born in Lower Freetown, Sept. 3, 1921, daughter of the late William and Marion (Campbell) Rogers. It was there that she attended school, met and later married her husband Jesse with whom she shared 60 happy years.
Her life revolved around her children, grandchildren, the family farm and church. She was an active member of the Freetown United Church choir and the United Church Women.
Her years in the community were enriched by her many wonderful friends and neighbors.
The family would like to thank the staff of Perrin's Clinton View Lodge for their great care and compassion during the years both she and Jesse were residents of the lodge.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, where a public funeral service will be held on Monday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment in the Freetown People's Cemetery.
No visitation by family request.
