Norma Power, 72, of Riverview passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital on May 8, 2010.
Born on July 3, 1937, she was the eldest child of the late Dr. Hugh and Marguerite (Hervè) Martin.
Norma was loving and caring with a sweet smile for everyone she met. She loved her bridge card parties, her computer, reading, travelling, but most of all the precious time she spent with family. Norma gave of her time in charitable causes including the St. Augustine Church soup kitchen, the Moncton Hospital canteen and several annual events.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 48 years, Gerry; son, Michael (Shirley), Halifax; daughter, Susan MacDonald (Bryan), Moncton; grandchildren, Meghan, Ryan and Quinn; twin sisters, Janet (Ken) Johnston, Judith (Murray) Nicholson; brother, Paul (Frances) Martin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Hervè and John.
Visitation will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 11 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday, May 12 from St. Bernards Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with Fr. Allison Carroll officiating. There will be a reception held in the parish hall following the mass. Cremation has taken place.
In Norma's memory and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital Foundation, or to a memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
