Mrs. Pam Moores of Glace Bay passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Gomshall, Surrey, England, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Kate (Sherlock) Chapman.
She immigrated from England in 1946 and raised her children here with her husband, John. She was a devoted member of St. Mary's Anglican Church and a one time member of the ACW. Pam was a very loyal member of the Cape Breton Chapter of the War Brides and cherished her time spent with them. She also did volunteer work with the Glace Bay Heritage Museum Society.
Pam is survived by daughters, Jean (Bill) MacDonald, Bedford, N.S., Wendy (Robert) Davies, Glace Bay; special daughter-in-law, Marie Moores; and by sons, John (Donna), Glace Bay, Peter (Dorothy), Sydney, Keith (Julie), Winnipeg. Pam is also survived by sister, Pat Klingenberg, Thunder Bay; brother, Arthur Chapman, Guildford, England; sister-in-law, Mable Turner and close friend and neighbour, Sadie Snow. Pam also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Kevin, Craig, Chris, Lisa, Melissa, Rodger, Anthony and Danica and cherished great-grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Cameron and Gracie.
Besides her husband, John, she was predeceased by a sister, Peg and a brother, Peter.
Visitation for Pam Moores will take place Tuesday, May 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's Anglican Church, Marconi Street, Glace Bay, with interment at St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary's Anglican Church fund, the QE II Hospital Fund or to a charity of choice.
