On Sunday, May 16, 2010, Charles Butts passed away in his home with his loving wife, Rita Butts (nee Yorke) by his side, just the way he wanted it.
He will be very dearly missed by his five children, Joseph (Gwen), Charlie (Sandra), David (Irena), Mary Landry (Rob) and Gerald (Jodi). His love for his grandchildren, Marissa, Marianna, Ellen, Laura, Alex, Andrew, Catherine, Tatiana, Hannah, Emma, Aiden and Ava will live forever in their hearts.
Memories of Charlie's stories, jokes and never-ending charity to his friends, community and church will be a source of comfort for all whose hearts and lives he touched in his 92 years.
Good-bye sweet husband, father, and friend. May you be forever happy, warm, and always find someone willing to play a good game of cards and have an ear to listen to your wonderful stories of life in Cape Breton.
In Lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to The Saint Vincent de Paul Society at Immaculate Conception parish.
Visitation will take place at Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay on Friday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place on Saturday 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport.
