Passed in: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: May 24th, 2010

Frederick James Bishop of Dartmouth met his Lord on May 24, 2010, at the age of 63.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Robert and Annie (Flemming) Bishop.
As an avid sports enthusiast, especially in relation to the Halifax Mooseheads, he was well known in the beverage and car sales businesses. His most cherished association was with Scouts Canada, which began when he was a child, growing up in Sydney, under the leadership of his Akala, Mrs. Tasman of Christ Church.
Over the years, he won numerous awards and certifications including the Citation for Decoration, Award for Fortitude, the Silver Acorn, the Medal of Merit and three Gillwells. He dedicated his time to both the development of programs for children and to leadership training in the scouting movement, and through that enjoyed the friendship of many who shared the same values.
He enjoyed many evenings with his coffee buddy, Jim McNeely and the OFFS meetings with Priscella, Tom, John and his badger friend, Don Connors.
His proudest achievement was the development of his twin daughters, Michelle (Adam Arthur), Dartmouth and Melissa (Russell) Amirault, Argyle and their mother, Pauline (Legge) Bishop. He also leaves behind his sweet grandson, Harrison; his sisters, Millie, MacDonald, Antigonish, Grace (Wayne) Beuree, Dartmouth and Thelma Charlton, Vancouver; brother, Charles Flemming, Vancouver and brother-in-law, Dave Denette, Connecticut. He also leaves several nieces and nephews in Canada and the USA.
He was predeceased by his sister, Georgina and six half brothers and sisters.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church on Ochterlony Street today (Thursday) at 2 p.m., Rev. Stephen Laskey officiating. A reception will be held in the church hall following the service. Interment will be later for immediate family only.
