Donald E. Coates of Riverview passed away at his residence on Friday, May 28th, 2010 with his loving wife at his side. Born in Moncton, January 11th, 1949, he was the son of the late George and Edna (Douthwright) Coates. Don retired in 2004 after 34 years of service with Canada Post. He loved hunting, fishing, home renovation and spending time with his buddies at the Maplewood Golf Club. It was there on the 16th hole that he found the perfect swing and got a hole in one; one of his proudest moments. Don was an unassuming man who loved his family first. He enjoyed spending time and helping others, as well as special moments with Ryleigh watching cartoons, blowing bubbles or just hearing about her day. On May 22, Don was able to visit and cherish time spent with the newest members of his family: twin grandsons Gryphen and Marren on the day of their birth.
Left with loving memories are his wife Marilyn (Buchanan) Coates, daughter Tanya (Kevin), cherished grandchildren Ryleigh, Gryphen and Marren; sisters, Barb Mills (Alex), Blanche Cole (Ron); brother, Ken (Annette); many nieces and nephews. And also the family he loved as his own, Cheryl Methot, Justin (Dee-Ann) Methot, Tara(Andrew) Amelia and Ava Lund.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Florence and brother, George.
