Feb. 3, 1913 - May. 28, 2010. Catherine Bruce of Jerseyside, formerly of Long Harbour. Passed away at the Lion's Manor Nursing Home, Placentia aged 97 years. Predeceased by her husband Patrick F. Bruce on October 12, 2005; brothers and sisters Susan (Griffiths), Michael (Mike), Dennis (Din), Maurice, James (Jim), and Thomas (Tom) Bruce. Leaving to mourn are her children Pat, Patsy (Pat Carroll), and Danny (Sylvia); grandchildren Melissa Pearson (Joseph), Jeffery Carroll, and Amy and Nolan Bruce; great grandchildren Brayden and Olivia Pearson; sister Alice Kelly in Long Harbour; sisters-in-law Margo Bruce, Camilla Bruce and Sophie Bruce; numerous nieces, nephews as well as many other relatives and friends. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home on Sunday and Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater. Interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast. Reception will follow at the Star of the Sea, Placentia.
