Annie Isabel Eagles of Thunder Bay, Ontario passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010 with family by her side. Annie was born in Moncton, NB December 25, 1924 and grew up in Gunningsville (Riverview), N.B. She later moved to Vancouver, BC where she married Lawrence Eagles in 1956. A couple of years later they moved to Fort William (Thunder Bay), ON where they raised their family of three. Annie was a registered nursing assistant. She enjoyed caring for people throughout her career and her life, eventually retiring early from Grandview Lodge due to her arthritis. She was a long time member of Westfort Baptist Church. Annie is survived by her children, Chet Eagles of Peterborough, ON Laureen (Dave) Funk of Thunder Bay, ON and Vaughn (Marilyn) Eagles of Surrey BC; grandchildren Jenna and Carly Eagles, Kylie (Austin) Williams, Chris and Jamie Funk, Jessica and Vanessa Eagles; sisters in law and brothers in law, Ruth Steves, Beulah Eagles, Hazel and Gordon Eagles, and Gerry and Ernie Eagles and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mabel MacQuarrie, brother Milton MacQuarrie, sisters Dorothy Dysart and Stella Devenne, and her husband Lawrence Eagles.
Visitation will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home Wednesday, June 2 from 7 to 9 pm, with funeral services being held at Westfort Baptist Church, 1219 Ford Street S., Thursday, June 3 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Arthritis Society or the Westfort Baptist Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
