Peacefully at home on May 11, 2009 in his 84th year.
Beloved husband of Clara for 54 years. Cherished father of James, Cameron (Christine Trimmins), Kelly and daughter-in-law, Charlene Gilmore. Loving Papa of Seana, Marcus, and a forthcoming little Sullivan. Will be missed by many friends in Hamilton and New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.
Cyril was a Retired Staff Sergeant for the Hamilton Wentworth Regional Police and served his community for 36 years, he served three years overseas in WWII for the Royal Canadian Air Force with the rank of a Flight Officer, a life time member of the Royal Canadian Legion and has been a member for 52 years at the Masonic Lodge.
Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Road, between Upper Ottawa and Upper Gage) on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 7 -9 p.m. Legion service to take place at 7 p.m. A memorial service will take place in the chapel on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Warplane Heritage or The Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
