Born on Nov. 21, 1923 in Montreal, a daughter of Harry Critchley and the former Mary Mayes. Died June 5, 2010 at the Brockville General Hospital in Brockville, Ont.
She graduated from the Montreal General Hospital School of Nursing in 1946, practiced as a registered nurse before she was married and later worked as a high school librarian's assistant in Prescott, Ont. She was an avid reader, rug hooker and a ham radio operator and helped in an adult literacy class after she retired.
She is survived by her sons, Robert of Prescott, Donald (Rosalind) of Kamloops, and Richard (Lisa) of Syracuse; six grandchildren, Adam, Geoffrey, Erica and Allan, Rachel and Andrew.
Predeceased by her parents; husband, Douglas; a brother, Harry; sister, Ellen and half brother, Alden MacAulay.
Friends may call at MacKay Funeral Home, 416 Dibble St. West Prescott from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2010 with funeral service in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 425 Centre St., Prescott on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at the Blue Church Cemetery.
