Michael Anthony Bucci - 62, of Eastern Passage, NS passed away on June 9, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in North Bay, Ont., February 26, 1948, he was the son of Frances (Hurst) and the late Joseph Bucci. Mike graduated from U.N.B with an Arts and Bach of Ed Degree. He taught at Waasis, Ridgeview Middle School for 34 years in Oromocto, NB. He thoroughly enjoyed teaching and had a great rapport with his students and colleagues. Sports took an active role in Mike's life. He played bantam football in the 60's, hockey through the 70's and was a great bowler but his big passion was golf. He enjoyed many golf trips with his golfing buddies. He was a quiet compassionate person who in the end wanted nothing more than to be close to his family, especially children and grandchildren. He touched many lives with his subtle humour and will be remembered for his ability to make us all laugh. Besides his mother he is survived by his wife of 42 years Joyce (West), daughter Jody, sons; Anthony (Niki), Peter (Barbara), sisters Deborah, Carmella, Margaret (Brian) Van Blarcoom, eight grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Taylor McGinnis, Grace, Jonah, Elijah Bucci, Samuel and Juliana Bucci. He is also survived by a special mother - in - law Marjorie West, as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews and many great friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main St. Dartmouth. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to V.O.N. or a charity of your choice.
