Shirley MacKay
Shirley J. (Smith) MacKay. 85, died June 11, 2010 at her home unexpectedly. She was born in Shinimicas Bridge, April 25, 1925 to Wilson & Edna (Johnson) Smith.
Shirley enjoyed country music, Knitting and Crocheting and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Federated Church, Hudson Mass. She retired from the Hudson National Bank after 25 years of service
She will be sadly missed by her son, James and daughter-in-law RaeMarie and her grandson James (J.D.) of Weare, N.H; step grandchildren, Michelle Peterson of Winchendon, Mass. Chris Schleyer of West Palm Beach FL, David Schleyer of Manchester, NH; her three sisters Gertrude Smith wife of Kenneth ,Bernice Smith, brother Ansel and his wife Evelyn all from Amherst, and Audrey Nix of Williamsdale, NS; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, James A. MacKay, Jr., and her sisters, Gwen Smith, Flo Stewart, Leona Smith & Reta Furlong; and her brothers, Leon, Raymond and Hilton all of Amherst.
Cremation has taken place under the care and supervision of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) from where a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11 am.
A graveside service will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA. at a later date.
