Enid Lillian (Horsman) Morse RN, 93, of North Head, Grand Manan passed away peacefully at the Grand Manan Hospital with her family by her side on Thursday morning, June 17th. Born in Cranbrook, BC, she was the daughter of the late Truman and Amelia (Lutes) Horsman of Moncton, NB. Mrs. Morse was a teacher and a Registered Nurse. She graduated from Fredericton High in 1935, and went on to graduate from the New Brunswick Normal School in 1936 and taught for several years, then she decided to further her education and have a career change attending The Saint John School of Nursing graduating in 1942, after which she nursed at the Saint John General Hospital and then moved to the Grand Manan Hospital where she nursed for several years. She was very devoted member of the North Head Baptist Church, where she dedicated her time to teaching Sunday school, singing in the Choir and served as a member of The United Baptist Church Missionary Society. In January 26th, 1945 she married her late husband Donald Keith Morse. Mrs. Morse is survived by one daughter Lynn Kathleen Reichart (Raymond) of Orangeville, Penn, USA, one son Neil Ernest Morse (Trudy) of Grand Harbour, NB, one sister-in-law Marjorie Horsman of Halifax, NS, also six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Morse was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2001, two brothers Eric and Carl Horsman, and one great grandson Daniel McLaughlin in 2008.
The family requests friends and relatives to visit with them at ELLS FUNERAL HOME, Grand Harbour on Friday evening 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held from the North Head Baptist Church on Saturday, June 19th, at 1:30pm with Rev Ronald Ford assisted by Rev George Howe.
