James "Jim" Otty Brooks, 78, of Fredericton, NB, the husband of the late Shirley (Wilson) Brooks occurred on Sunday, June, 20, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Gagetown, NB, on June 9, 1932 he was the son of the late Walter and Lulu (McKee) Brooks. Jim retired from the Fredericton Airport after 33 years of service. He enjoyed the many years at the Mic Mac Trailer Park. Jim is survived by his two daughters Terry (Jerry) Hovey and Kathy Dutcher; three grandchildren Ian and Kaitlin Dutcher, and Jennifer Gallant; one great grandson Seth James Butler; one sister Alice May Merrill; caregiver Pat Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents Jim was predeceased by his son Timothy "Tim" Brooks and his brothers Percy, Ralph and Edison.
There will be no visitation by request of the family. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Dr., Fredericton, NB at 2pm with Rev. Boyd Vincent officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment in the Fireside Room. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, IWK Children's Hospital or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
