Frances Meagher, 91, of Maple Ridge, B.C., formerly of Glace Bay, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010, peacefully at the Ridge Meadows Hospital and Healthcare Centre, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Louisbourg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas William and Elizabeth Jane (Parsons) Tanner.
She was a wonderful mother and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
Frances was an avid bingo fan. She resided in Glace Bay until 2003 when she moved to Maple Ridge to reside with her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Gino Giansante.
Frances is survived by her loving children, sons, Alonzo 'Al' (Gail), Blair, James; daughters, Sandra (Gino) Giansante, Darlene Leblanc (Dave Leech), Barbara (Lewis Caines); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alonzo in 1984, sons, Thomas 'Ricky', William and daughters, Barbara Jean and Clara.
Visitation for Frances Meagher will be held Thursday, June, 24, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Church, Glace Bay, Friday at 10 a.m. with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Interment to follow in St. Anne's Parish Cemetery.
