1915-2010 - Léola Poirier, 95 of Auberge du Soleil, Dieppe and formerly of Villa Beau Soleil, Sainte-Marie de Kent where she resided for 22 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010 at the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. She was married to the late Emile Poirier (1988) for 48 years. Born in Saint-Maurice de Kent on June 11th, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Jacques and the late Emilienne (Maillet) Savoie. Léola enjoyed reading her daily paper, playing cards, Bingo, and spending precious time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her eight children, Jacqueline (Louis Allain), Maria (Gérald LeBlanc) Juliette (Maurice Mazerolle) all of Moncton, Yolande (Rodrigue Lévesque) of Saint-Quentin, Guy (Yvette Daoust) of Grande-Digue, Yvon (Clara) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, Joseph (Janice) of Dieppe, Paul-Émile (Doreen) of Riverview, her seventeen grandchildren and her twenty one great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Sr Imelda, Lucie, Élodie, Ida, and two brothers Eddie and Jude.
Visitation will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent from Thursday, June 24th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, and on Friday from 12:30 to 1:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Sainte-Marie de Kent Church on Friday, June 25th, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In Léola's memory donations can be made to the Villa Beau Soleil, Sainte-Marie de Kent. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
