Happy Trails to You... Ted Burgess, a cowboy at heart, has finally found his happy trail home. A man that never missed a road trip, a good old cowboy movie, or a chance to be with family and friends has been promoted to glory. Edward "Ted" E. Burgess, 65, of Riverview, passed peacefully on Friday, June 25, 2010. Born in Truro, NS, he was the 6th child of the late Lawrence and Louise (Flemming) (Burgess) Hardy. Sadly missed by his beloved wife of 45 years Judy (Morrisey) and children, Glen Edward (Lynn), Barrie, ON. Debby Clements (Mark), Riverview; grandchildren, Matthew Burgess, Barrie, ON, Tiffany Burgess, Ottawa, ON, Avery Clements, Riverview; sisters, Anne Miller (late Freeman) Truro, NS; Nancy Burgess- Hutt (Daryl), Bible Hill, NS; brother, Douglas(Verna), New Glasgow, NS; sisters in law, Shirley Burgess (late David); Mack MacLaughlin, North River, NS; Patricia (late Larry) Finck (Herb), Tatamagouche, NS; many nieces and nephews; half brothers and sisters, Barb Zimmermann, Edmonton, AB; Heidi, Winnipeg, MB; Cori, Gatineau, PQ; Laughn, Edmonton, AB. In addition to his parents, predeceased by brothers, Larry, David and Ronnie.
Celebration of Life Service for Ted will be held at the Moncton Wesleyan Church, St. George Blvd., Tuesday, June 29, 2010, 11:00 am. Fellowship and visitation with the family following the service in the Wesleyan Church Atrium. Interment, Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 11:00am, Robie St. Cemetery, Truro, NS.
Ted will be remembered with love and laughter by all who knew him as a good father, patient husband and life long friend of Bill Withers, Truro. Heartfelt thanks to Extra-Mural nurses, Dr. P. Mansfield and Dr. Telfer who made his battle more comfortable. Ted served with the R.C.R. in Lahr, Germany and 36 years in the Printing business in Truro, NS, and Moncton. Ted was a retiree of Co-op Atlantic, Moncton. Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), in care of arrangements.
