Mary Guthro aged 83 years of Maple Street, Springhill, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Born in Glace Bay, N.S., she was a daughter of the late James Clyde and Laura Sarah (Roney) Dickie.Mary was a member of St. Andrews Wesley United Church, Church Presbetry, UCW Unit 1 and choir. She enjoyed knitting, going for drives, her home and especially her family. She will be sadly missed by sons, Edwin (Diane) Jones, Westchester, Murray (Anna) Jones, Port Howe, Clyde (Lynn) Jones, Moose Jaw, Sask. and Allan (Les Lee) Guthro, Kanloops, BC; daughters, Elizabeth (George) Thompson, Westchester, Lynn (Anthoney House) LeBlanc, Springhill and Laura Jean (Terrance) Mason, Yellowknife; brother, James A. (Mariom) Dickie, Little Narrows, Cape Breton; sister, Shirley MacCallum, Springhill; several grand and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, William Jones and by her second husband Herbert Guthro; daughter, Meredith Jean Jones in infancy; sister, Lorraine.Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from St. Andrews Wesley United Church, Springhll, with The ReverendElizabeth Davies officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
