Mrs Marjorie Alean Green of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital Friday, July 2, 2010 with her family by her side.
Born in Fredericton on March 6, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Allan and Margaret Chase.
Marjorie worked in her early years as a waitress where she met her husband Otis. She also worked at the Grand Manan High School Cafeteria for several years, but staying at home caring for her family was her life's work. Also she was a member of the Grand Harbour Baptist Church and a member of the United Baptist Women's Missionary Society.
She is survived by her husband Mr. H. Otis Green, one daughter Donna (Rob) MacPherson of Grand Harbour. Her sister Ethel Bamford of Saint John; one brother Archie Chase of Mississauga, ON. Three grandchildren Monica (Stephen) Green - Nissen, of Quispamsis, Lindsay (Justin) Green - Griffin, and Shauna MacPherson both of Grand Harbour.
She was predeceased by one grandson Randy MacPherson, one son Roland (Butch) Green, two sisters Evelyn Damery, Louise Harding, and two brothers Fred and Allan Chase.
Visiting will be held from Ells Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the Grand Harbour Baptist Church on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Jeff Benson officiating. The interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Marjorie's family has requested that donations may be made to the Grand Manan Museum.
