With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle, Carl Blashill of Central Butte, SK, at the age of 89 years. Uncle Carl passed away at the Central Butte Regency Manor on June 29th, 2010. He was predeceased by his father, Walter, in 1945; his mother, Margaret, in 1968; his brother, James, in 1990; his sister, Ethel McWilliams, in 2003; and his brother-in-law, Clayton, in 1985. He is survived by his two nephews, James of Regina and Ronald (Bernadette) of Holdfast; great-nieces, Pamela (Chris), Heather (friend Cam) and Amy Jo; great-nephews, Jason (friend Tammy), Ian (Almuth) McWilliams and Dean (fiance Jacquelynn); great-great-niece Haley; great-great-nephews Curtis and Zachary; special friends and neighbours, Keith and Carol Bligh and their family; cousin Linda Hanley and many cousins in Western and Eastern Canada. Uncle Carl was a big sports fan and was a fountain of information on many sports. He loved to play baseball in his younger years. He served in the Air Force for a short time and returned to farm at Central Butte and continued farming there until the fall of 2009. In December, 2009 he moved to the Iver Main Place in Central Butte and in March of 2010 moved to the Central Butte Regency Hospital. A huge thank you to Maria and the staff of the Iver Main Place and all the staff at the Central Butte Regency Hospital for their care and compassion. At Uncle Carl's request, there will be no funeral. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian Hanson, Hanson's Funeral Home, Davidson, Sask.
