With her loving children by her side, Muriel Avis "Tony" Roy completed her earthly journey on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at White Rapids Manor, Fredericton Junction, NB. Born in Stonehouse, England on October 17, 1918 to Frank and Rose (Short) Payton, Tony immigrated to Canada with her family in 1930 where they quickly became part of the community of Rusagonis. She married the first love of her life, Chauncey Moore in 1935 and they went on to raise their three sons and one daughter there. Tony was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be remembered forever by her husband and sweetheart, Louis Roy, who resides at White Rapids Manor; her only daughter, Muriel Morgan (Bill) of Nasonworth and her youngest son, Douglas Moore (Linda) of Rusagonis. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; daughter in law, Doris Moore and two special friends, Mavis Carr and Bonnie Holland; sisters, Barbara Hale, June MacLeod and Frances "Nan" Clifford as well as several nieces and nephews.
Tony was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Chauncey Moore; her sons, Lester and Truman and her sister, Ruth.
Visitation will be held at the Rusagonis Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the church on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Brent MacDonald officiating, assisted by Rev. David Gray. Interment will follow in the Rusagonis Baptist Cemetery. Memorial tributes in Tony's honor may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. On-line condolences can be made at www.mcadamsfh.com.
