1914-2010 - Eliza Léger of College Bridge, passed away peacefully July 7 at the Résidence Notre-Dame-du-Sacre-Cceur, Dieppe, with her family by her bedside. Born in College Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Philomon Landry and Eléonore Bourque. She was a former school teacher and her long career took her through the schools of Pain sec, McGinley, College Bridge and finally the Ecole regionale de Memramcook where she retired in 1968. She had been a member of les Dames de Ste-Anne for many years.
As a hobby she enjoyed research in the history of the Memramcook Valley. She also gave great genealogical help to those who came to her seeking information about their family roots.
She will be sadly missed by her five children: Sister Josette Léger, n.d.s.c., Moncton, Georgeline LeBlanc (Ulysse), Francis (Jeannita), Memramcook, Diane LeBlanc(Donald), College Bridge, Victor (Ida), Haut-du-Ruisseau; nine grandchildren: Marc, Chantal, Luc, André, Anne, Mathieu, Roxanne, Christine, Julien; six great-grand children: Julie, Annabelle, Marco, Mya, Melodie, Patrick; several nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her husband Leopold Leger (1978), one grandchild, Jacques Leger; five brothers: Abbey, Raymond, Arthur, Maximin (Max), Edouard (Eddie): three sisters: Evangeline, Anita, Eveline.
The family will receive condolences at Dupuis funeral home, Memramcook
on Friday, July 9 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Saturday, July 10 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 10 at Saint Thomas de Memramcook, St-Joseph at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Handi Bus, Résidence Notre Dame du Sacré Coeur and Atelier l'Artisan. Arrangements are in care of Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook
